PARIS City of Light

A tourist destination chosen each year by more than 20 million people, Paris has become a magnificent city-museum, a wonderful, festive setting for evenings out and seeing shows, and a cosmopolitan and lively business centre.

Today, Paris encompasses 20 arrondissements (wards). Their inhabitants are concentrated in the outer wards where one finds more parks and modern facilities.


Paris is has grown to a metropolitan area of 10 million inhabitants, and its influence extends well beyond the capital:
the city itself, the Ile de France and, thanks to development of public transport and the RER, the "cities within an hour of Paris" have welcomed city dwellers looking for a better style of life.
